Founder and President of Agroamérica dies and leaves a great mission.

Guatemala, June 10, 2009. Fernando Bolaños Menéndez, the founder and president of the Corporation Agroamérica, died on Thursday, May 21, after more than 62 years of work. His leadership now is in charge of his sons who continue with the proper functioning of the corporation and the growth of it, as he always did. His sons are now adults and professionals that have been involved in the business for over 27 years, leading the corporation.

Don Fernando was a man who began to build what is now Agroamérica since he was very young. He achieved these through work, perseverance, effort, courage, determination, and social sensitivity. He created one of the largest producers of bananas and pineapples in the world, in terms of quality and efficiency. It is also a major producer of African palm in the region. Agroamérica has its own line of transportation as well as a diversification program of fast food and entertainment business
