Agroamerica opens a rural school for children of the company´s employees

Agroamerica opened the school called “Mixed Rural Private School Fernando Bolaños,” in the Chiquirines village, Caballo Blanco, Rethaluleu, which is directed to the children of Agroamerica´s employees who live in rural villages located near the farm. The school has preschool and primary.

To carry out this project, Agroamerica signed an agreement with Funcafé – Foundation of Coffee for Rural Development, to administrate the school and coordinate the technical issues due to their experience in running schools within the country.

We pretend to give the children a higher education level and the opportunity to contribute with the development of their communities. We believe and know that education is the best route to development?, commented Gustavo Bolaños, CEO of Agroamerica.

Rudy Vasquez Oxlaj, the Secretary and Chairman of the Rural Comunity Council (COCODE) of Chiquirines, said: For me it is a very good project because this school will help the community since children will have a more personalized education and teachers will receive training.
