AgroAmerica and CONRED renewed accreditations to 72 people as official members of Local Coordinators for Disaster Reduction (COLRED)

OUR PEOPLE, OUR COMMUNITY

AgroAmerica in partnership with the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction -CONRED- , and the Association of the Southwest Trifinio  ASODITSO-, carried out the renewal of accreditations to 72 people from 10 communities of Quetzaltenango, San Marcos, and Retalhuleu; as official members of Local Coordinators for Disaster Reduction.

During an act held at AgroAmerica School, the Executive Secretary of CONRED, Sergio Cabañas, presented the renewed accreditations to 72 people among whom were community leaders and workers of the company.

The accreditations endorse them as official members of the Local Coordinators for Disaster Reduction in the communities of San Luis, Santa Fe, Los Encuentros, La Blanquita, Valle Lirio, Chiquirines, Morenas, Salinas I and II, and Colonia Barillas.

Agroamerica and the Local Coordinators for Disaster Reduction (COLRED):

Since 2016 AgroAmerica began the process of training of Local Coordinators for Disaster Reduction to provide local knowledge and skills to respond to emergencies and natural disasters.

The aim of COLRED is to give support to the communities during natural disasters and organize them to learn to react in the correct right way to an event, and if necessary, provide the first response, in coordination with municipal or departmental authorities.
