Agroamerica, bridge reparation re-established vehicular traffic towards Las Trozas Village.

Guatemala, May 2009. Aiming to restore vehicular communication and benefit the local community, the bridge from Las Trozas village, which connected three villages in the area, was repaired.

The bridge, which was rebuilt with the support of the company Agroamérica, had a hole of 2.5 meters wide by 3 meters long, preventing communication with the town.

The inhabitants of the region, about 3,500 people, expressed their satisfaction with the project, since the lack of infrastructure made difficult the performance of daily activities like going to the workplace, the market or to resolve an emergency.

Agroamérica invested Q14 a thousand in the project, which helped to reestablish the communication and access to Huitzizil, Las Trozas and San Francisco Madre Vieja villages. The reactivation of this main route connects several area farms and public transportation, which allows people from the banana plantations.

This and other projects are part of the company’s commitment to support local communities through the reparation and creation of infrastructure that permits the improvement of their living conditions while encouraging them to participate in the development of their own communities.
